SANTA ANITA - Friday, November 1, 2013
BREEDERS' CUP DAY ONE

Today is the first day of the most exciting two days of horse racing in North America. Good luck!

Race 1
#11 - U S CITIZEN - Just missed in his last start on the hillside, drops in class.

Race 2
#7 - MONUMENT - Finished 3rd in a stakes try in his last start, experience at the tough 7F distance, shows good works off the layoff.

Race 3
#7 - TAMARANDO - Finished 3rd in a G1 try in his last start after winning the G1 Del Mar Futurity.

Race 4
#9 - MOVING DESERT - Has never missed the board in her five starts, going against horses that are also stretching out around two turns for the first time, Hall of Fame jockey Gary Stevens to judge the pace.

Race 5 - G2 Twilight Derby
#12 - GABRIEL CHARLES - Won the G2 Del Mar Derby in his last start, previous winner at both Santa Anita and the distance, shows good works, Hall of Fame jockey Mike Smith aboard.

Race 6 - G2 Marathon
#4 - EVER RIDER - Shipper from South America won a G2 race in his last start, should be able to handle the distance with Gary Steven as the pilot.

Race 7 - G1 Juvenile Turf
#5 - BOBBY’S KITTEN - New York shipper scored a big win in a G3 at Belmont Park in his last start, set to make it three in a row.

Race 8 - G1 Dirt Mile
#10 - VERRAZANO - Should dominate this field if he can run back to his previous form.

Race 9 - G1 Juvenile Fillies Turf
#14 - MY CONQUESTADORY - Versatile undefeated filly won a G1 in her last start in Kentucky, proven ability to win graded races anywhere on turf or dirt.

Race 10 - G1 Distaff
#6 - PRINCESS OF SYLMAR - Won her last four starts, all G1, at three different tracks; should run down the defending champion Royal Delta and the other speed horses off a hot pace.

Race 11 - G1 President of the United Arab Emirates Cup Invitational Stakes
#6 - GRILLA - What do I know about handicapping Arabians? Grilla is the only one who won a G1 in his last start at Delaware Park. Bet these at your own risk.
