Hello! My name is Allen Hamilton and I have been playing the horses since I was in high school. The first bet I ever made was at Santa Anita in the winter of 1966. The horse’s name was Lucky PJ and he was ridden by a young apprentice named Laffit Pincay, Jr. The horse won and paid $5.80 and I was hooked. Since then, I have bet the horses at seventeen different tracks in North America and one track in England.
I have BA and MBA degrees from the University of Denver. After retiring from a career in real estate investments in June 2010, I decided to see what would happen if I played the three major Southern California tracks and made a selection in every race.
On Saturday, August 11, 2012, my family joined me for a day at Del Mar. Prior to the first race, one of the track’s professional handicappers led a short, free seminar where he gave handicapping tips and race picks. At the end of the day, my daughter Lynn (webmaster for this blog) asked me how my picks stacked up against the Pro's. The results were as follows: The Seminar Pro had one winner on top for the day. The Pro whose picks are listed in the program had two winners on top for the day. I had five winners on top for the day including a first time starter in the first race that paid $19.80 to win.
“Wow, you should start a blog,” she said, and here we are today.
As you can see from my OVERALL STATS, after over 20,000 races, my record is better than most of the public handicappers you see in newspapers and comparable to many of the pros who charge $10+ for their daily selections. I offer my opinions for free and won’t tell you how to bet or how much. I hope you will follow along with me to see how I do in the future. Good Luck!
