Five winners on top yesterday for another winning day.  Today is one of the toughest cards I have seen at Santa Anita.  So, it will be feast or famine. Good Luck!

Race 1

#4 - WARREN’S CONCEPT - Has won at Santa Anita, drops in class and has best speed in last race.  Other contenders: #2, #7.

Race 2

#8 - INDIAN MAGIQUE - Second time starter bred for the turf.  Sentimental choice is Nana Beach who is now 0/36.  Will she ever win?  Not likely today.  Other contenders: 

#9, #12 in one of the most puzzling collection of horses to ever run at Santa Anita.

Race 3

#1 - T.K. FORTYSIX - Hard to like a maiden who is 0/10 but has run in the money at Santa Anita and the distance, drops in price with Delgadillo riding.  Other contenders: #12, #13 in another grab bag affair.

Race 4

#2 - LUZ ATTICUS - Won last at same distance, gets hot Gryder to ride.  Other contenders: #6, #4.

Race 5

#9 - CIRCA’SGOLDENGEAR - Should be able to step up in class off win in last, has won at Santa Anita and been 2nd twice on the hillside.  Other contenders: #3, #6.

Race 6

#1 - JUMEIMA - Second time starter who should improve off 3rd place finish in only start.  Other contenders: #9, #7.

Race 7

#8 - MY SUMMER SLEW - Has won on the hillside, from solid Spawr barn and had best speed in last race. Other contenders: #9, #1.

Race 8

#9 - DOUBLE ANTE - Should repeat off maiden win at the distance for Sherman barn.  Other contenders: #8, #6.

Race 9 John Henry G2

#9 - BOURBON BAY - 7/9 at Santa Anita for this turf distance specialist, had best speed in last and has won at today’s distance.  Other contenders: #4, #8.

Race 10

#3 - KING MAYA - Drops in class, has hit the board at Santa Anita, runs for the strong Cerin barn.  Other contenders: #4, #14.

SANTA ANITA - Saturday, September 29, 2012

Very profitable opening day with only two winners on top. Today will be very exciting with five Grade 1 races whose winners automatically qualify for the Breeders Cup. In addition, the life size bronze statue of Zenyatta will be unveiled and the USC Marching Band will play.

Race 1

#1 - IVE STRUCK A NERVE - Ran in a Grade 1 in last, and prepped for this with a sharp work.  Other contenders: #6, #4.

Race 2

#10 - THIRTEEN BLACK - Has won at Santa Anita, drops in class and shortens to more favorable distance.  Other contenders: #1, #11.

Race 3

#3 - PRESS BARON - Won last at today’s distance, should be able to step up in class.  Other contenders: #5, #8.

Race 4

#4 - ROSIES READY - Second time starter should be ready to win after money finish in first start.  Other contenders: #2, #7.

Race 5

#8 - MR. MAKE BELIEVE - Has won at Santa Anita, drops in class and has best speed in last race.  Other contenders: #3, #10.

Race 6 Chandelier G1

#7 - EXECUTIVEPRIVILEGE - Has won all four of pervious starts including a G1 in last.  Other contenders: #5, #7.

Race 7 Frontrunner G1

#5 - DRY SUMMER - Won last, should like the switch from turf to dirt.  Other contenders: #10, #1.

Race 8 Zenyatta G1

#7 - LOVE AND PRIDE - Shipper from Saratoga won G1 in last and has best speed.  Other contenders: #6, #3.

Race 9 Rodeo Dr. G1

#11 - MARKETING MIX - Shipper from Arlington Park, just missed in G1 Beverly D. and has won at the distance.  Other contenders: #2, #12.

Race 10 Awesome Again G1

#1 - GAME ON DUDE - 4/4 at Santa Anita, just missed in the Pacific Classic G1 in last, has best speed.  Other contenders: #7, #9.

Race 11

#8 - BYRAMA - Has won on the hillside, has best speed in last.  Other contenders: #6, #9.

#12 - STARSPANGLED HEAT - Has won at track and distance including last race, good works off layoff.  Other contenders: #9, #6.

#5 - CLASSIC LEGACY - Has won at the distance, won last race and claimed, drops to slightly easier spot.  Other contenders: #11, #12.

Race 8 Eddie D. G3

#13 - UNBRIDLED’S NOTE - Saratoga shipper, drops from G1, speed should fit the hillside in first turf run.  Other contenders: #2, #3.
